DESCRIPTION:The Adirondack Pack Basket is one of the most recognized objects associated with the Adirondacks. This will be a day of weaving ending with a great pack ready for your day hike or canoe trip. Approximate dimensions are 6" x 9" x 12" to 14" height. Adults and children can wear this pack. Woven with reed\, add a hardwood handle\, a rim and complete the basket with a cotton or custom leather harness. Students will weave a plain weave base with the pre-cut spokes\, then will learn to continuous weave the sides of the basket\, level the top\, cut and tuck\, insert the handle and complete the rim\, then add the cotton or leather harness. This class will be great fun for all weavers and is also a perfect introduction to making pack baskets. Linda will demonstrate\, teach you weaving techniques and guide you while you weave your basket. Students will be using a drawknife with a shave horse as well as other sharp tools. Baskets will not be stained during class. Linda will bring all materials and tools students will need during class.\n\n\n \n\n\nNOTE:  Materials fee for Cotton Harness - $62. Materials fee for pre-ordered leather harness-$83. The leather harness needs to be ordered a minimum of two weeks prior to the class.
