The scholarship benefit was launched by Anne Palamountain in 1979\, and she presided over the event and played a key role in its planning for 35 years. The Palamountain Scholarship Fund is one of Skidmore's largest sources of endowed scholarship support\, with a value of $6.2 million. Over the years\, more than 300 scholarships to academically talented Skidmore juniors and seniors have been supported by the fund.
