DESCRIPTION:In this class students will learn how to forge and heat treat a set of basic cold and hot working hand tools. Covered in this class will be a cold chisel\, hot cut chisel\, 1/4" round punch and a center punch. These tools are essential for any blacksmith. They will be forged from coil spring steel\, a readily available material. Proper forging technique will be covered\, along with sanding\, hardening and tempering. Students will leave with a functional tool set to bring back to their own shop and the knowledge to forge and safely heat treat their own tools. This workshop is open to beginners\, but experience at the anvil is helpful.\n\n\nNOTE:  Hard shoes and long pants are required for student's safety.
