SUMMARY:Eastbound Jesus - 06/29/2013
DESCRIPTION:The band that is rapidly emerging as the 518's breakout act\nAmericana / alt-Country / Roots / Newgrass Rock \nOne\n chilly evening\, early in the fall of 2010\, Adam Brockway\, Dave Wright\, \nCarl Anderson\, Luke Anderson and Zack Infante gathered by a woodstove in\n a barn on the outskirts of Greenwich\, NY. With a snare\, a kick\, and an \nold beat up high hat\, Carl began teaching himself how to play the drums \nwhile Adam and Zack played along on guitars\, Luke on banjo and Dave on \nbass. Vocal melodies and harmonies were flowing like the beer from their\n cans and within a few hours\, the group had written 2 songs front to \nback and it was obvious\, at least to the brand new quintet\, that they \nhad immediately put together a sound that was just as unique as it was \ntraditional.\n \n Week by week\, song by song\, the band quickly \ncollaborated a full set-list of original music\, recorded an album in a \nbedroom with two sm-58's and on Jan. 27th\, 2011 released their debut \nalbum Greatest Hits Vol. 1. Eastbound Jesus continued to grow musically\,\n as well as with members picking up Dylan Robinson on lead guitar\, as \nZack Infante took over on lap steel guitar. Writing music and picking up\n fans throughout the spring the band won the Saratoga Performing Arts \nBattle Of The Bands in June of 2011.\n \n Eastbound Jesus continued \nto grow musically and went into the studio to record their album Holy \nSmokes. The album represented a year as a band and the completely unique\n and exciting sound the members have all worked to develop.\n \n In \nApril\, the band released Northern Rock\, which immediately gained \ncritical acclaim from the regional music press as well as extended radio\n and online airplay. The boys are setting themselves up to be Upstate \nNY’s prime entry into the burgeoning roots revival movement.\n \n Take a listen:\n http://eastboundjesus.bandcamp.com/album/northern-rock\n \n \n \n Special Guests: CABINET\n \n When it comes to the music of Cabinet\, the essential bywords are soul\, simplicity\, and serious musicianship.\n \n\n In concert\, the combination of these qualities invariably yields an \nexperience that is so celebratory and moving that the very word Cabinet \ntakes on a new\, vivid meaning for anyone in the audience. An inclusive \nand engaging energy is the uniting through-line as Cabinet weaves \nbluegrass\, country and folk influences to powerful effect. Tight \ndynamics punctuate gorgeous\, soaring harmonies as down-to-earth rhythm \nand lyrics give way to dreamy jams that are the musical equivalent of \nthe back road scenic route.\n \n But this impressive result is no \naccident. Pappy Biondo [banjo\, vocals]\, J.P. Biondo [mandolin\, vocals]\, \nMickey Coviello [acoustic guitar\, vocals]\, Dylan Skursky [electric bass\,\n double bass]\, Todd Kopec [fiddle\, vocals]\, and Jami Novak [drums\, \npercussion]\, all love and live music. They each have a nuanced approach \nand posses broad talents in their own rights. But the passionate\, \naffirming\, and joyous musical world that they create together is \nCabinet.
