SUMMARY:Bow Thayer & The Perfect Trainwreck - 07/11/2013
DESCRIPTION:The Roadhouse Live Music Series\n \n Doors 8 / Show 9:30\n \n $7 (with first drink on the house)\n \n\n Bow Thayer has been singing and writing songs for as long as he can \nremember. Making music is who he is. He has lived up to his “reputation \nas a sublimely gifted artist” by pursuing a creative vision that seeks \nto lead Americana music into the future. Finally gaining national \nrecognition\, American Songwriter Magazine says this “onetime Levon Helm \ncompatriot is the best artist to come from New England in recent years.”\n \n\n Bow made a name for himself in Boston with 7 League Boots\, a \nrock/reggae band that shared the stage with the likes of Fugazi\, The \nMighty Mighty Bosstones and Pearl Jam. Fifteen years ago he made a \nlife-altering decision to leave the city for the Green Mountains of \nVermont. It was there that he explored the Delta blues playing slide \nguitar for the original Elbow and began a relationship with the \nbanjo—both in the bluegrass group\, The Benders\, and on his own—that \ncontinues to this day.\n \n His current group\, Bow Thayer & \nPerfect Trainwreck\, released their third record “Eden”\, that was \nco-produced with three time Grammy-winning engineer Justin Guip\, to \ncritical acclaim on March 5\, 2013. Comprised of a failed painter\, some \nlousy carpenters\, and a piano tuner\, these artists cultivate progressive\n yet soulful mountain music for the general public’s consumption with an\n electric banjo\, various other string instruments\, used parts found in \ndrums\, and a keen eye for the human condition.\n \n Bow aims to \nforge new sonic frontiers and Perfect Trainwreck (which one writer \nsuggests “will become Vermont’s third nationally acclaimed rock band”) \ncarries that vision to far off destinations. Having played with such \nmusic luminaries as Levon Helm\, John Hiatt\, Booker T\, and Ringo Starr\, \nthe band has seen its fair share of travel across these United States of\n America and the World at large and plan to do more while supporting \ntheir records of facts\, analogies and metaphors.\n \n They have been\n known to throw one hell of a party\, too. Maybe you have heard of Tweed \nRiver Music Festival? Bow and his band of brothers devote their lives to\n spreading music wherever they go and hope you have the chance to catch \nan earful
