Saratoga County Chamber changes things for Saratoga County and the region.

Saratoga County Chamber changes things for Saratoga County and the region.

We believe in convening creative ideas and positive partnerships

The Saratoga County Chamber believes that the best way to collaborate for mutual success is to first make Saratoga County strong – so that our thriving businesses and institutions can help to drive the overall growth and reputation of our region. This position of strength makes our chamber an extremely effective advocate for important issues with local, regional and statewide impact. We will also continue to create opportunity for shared events, coordinated advocacy efforts and a productive exchange of ideas and information in support of our membership and region.

This Chamber has a 100+ year history of changing things for the benefit of Saratoga County and the surrounding region, including these recent actions:

  • Every October, the Saratoga County Chambers’ annual B2B Expo, at the Saratoga Springs City Center, is the regions’ largest B2B networking event with exhibitors and attendees from Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer Counties.
  • Kathleen Fyfe, the VP for Community Development for the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, currently serves on the Alliance for the Creative Economy (ACE) steering committee representing the Capital Region, Greene, Rensselaer, Southern Saratoga, and Saratoga County as well as the Adirondack Regional chambers of commerce.
  • Annamaria Bellantoni, the VP for Tourism for the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, currently serves as the Chair of the Capital-Saratoga Region Tourism Council. This regional collaborative works with I LOVE NY to pull out all of the stops to bring tourists in to this region. The collaborative is comprised of representatives of the Tourism Promotional Agencies in Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Washington and Saratoga County counties. Each county provides funds which are matched with funds from I LOVE NY to implement a regional tourism promotion strategy which we, as the administrator of the program, manage on a day-to-day basis.
  • Our Chamber's “Whoa Cuomo” campaign and successful bipartisan advocacy effort to reprivatize NYRA ended state government control over the Saratoga Race Course two years ago. The Saratoga Race Course has an annual $240 million economic impact on the region, extending from Columbia County, to the Capital Region, to Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties.
  • Our annual Startup Saratoga event which features local tech entrepreneurs pitching new business ideas extended the Startup Tech Valley program begun first, in Troy, with RPI, to other counties. Today, these Startup events are hosted in Troy, Saratoga Springs, and Schenectady.
  • Saratoga’s Giant Pumpkin Festival which we host annually features a contest for the heaviest pumpkin in the Capital Region and the heaviest pumpkin in Saratoga County. This family friendly festival attracts 10,000 people from the region and showcases the regions agricultural economy.
  • In 2016, the Saratoga County Chamber "invented" Leap of Kindness Day. Beyond the hundreds of Saratoga County residents and businesses who participated, the Saratoga County Chamber shared this idea and materials with more than 50 chambers across the US extending the reach of this program across the region and beyond. The idea was simple - - encourage everyone to take the one extra day we all get during Leap Year, on February 29th, to do something kind for someone else.
  • In 2019, the Saratoga County Chamber is partnering with SUNY Empire State College to pilot a program we're calling the Saratoga County Institute for Management. This program is co-facilitated by Chamber member experts and the faculty at SUNY Empire State College to help local employees to become better managers, supervisors and leaders in their workplaces. After this year, SUNY Empire State College will consider extending a similar program based on what is learned in Saratoga County to other areas across New York State.
